Visas

International students usually require a visa to live and study in the UK. The type of visa you'll need depends on your nationality and the length of your course. Some students do not need a visa.

The University's Student Immigration Service provides specialist support to international students who require a visa to study at the University of St Andrews. The service has two teams:

  • International Advice, to give you advice and guidance on your student visa. To get visa advice, email [email protected].
  • Compliance, to help protect your immigration status while you're studying. To get help to understand your visa responsibilities, call +44 (0)1334 46 2352 or email [email protected].

If you are enrolled or employed at another educational institution and you have an arrangement with the University of St Andrews to visit as a researcher, scholar, or visiting academic, your School should email [email protected] to ask for advice on visas.
